What to expect

At 40X MaxPerformance, I don’t exercise my clients, I train them. There is a big difference. Exercise is non-directional. Training has direction, a focus, progression, and variability. Periodically your session will vary in mechanical specificity and neuromuscular specificity from week to week. Mechanical refers to the movements and the weight put on the body. We will be focusing on muscular endurance while increasing weight and rep variation all while always maintaining proper form. Neuromuscular refers to the speed of contraction and the exercise selected. We will be focusing on stability, speed, and contraction of the muscle, pushing intensity and progression within the training program. Intensity and progression are optimal for metabolic specificity. Specificity is important because applying it correctly will allow you to have a focused, efficient program that will lead to desired gains. If your current trainer has no plan for you, and no direction and you’re doing the same workout week after week with no weight, rep, or movement changes, fire your trainer!
